Time and Life

Time is not time, as it seems. The limits of the physical understanding of time become obvious once we consider the relation between time and human life, i.e. life from a biographical and ethical point of view. For the relation between time and human life can hardly be debated sufficiently by making use of the physical time concept only. Modern physics tells us that the distinction between a past, a present, and a future is meaningless. And yet we have reason to ask if this distinction is of particular importance for us humans and the way we live our lives. The question of time has a special meaning once we want to know what the relation between time and human life is.
